Penske Joins Industry in Weeklong Recognition of Technicians
Sept. 19-24 marks the American Trucking Associations' second annual National Technician Appreciation Week. Penske is proud to join the trucking industry this week to recognize the significant and essential contributions of technicians and customer service representatives.
"Throughout our history and especially during the pandemic, Penske technicians and customer service representatives have kept our businesses, supply chains and economy moving," said Art Vallely, president, Penske Truck Leasing. "Penske is incredibly thankful for the drive and dedication of our technicians and customer service representatives who keep us moving forward even in the most challenging situations. Without the everyday work of our technicians and customer service representatives, supply chains would screech to a halt."
Technicians serve the frontlines by keeping trucks and trailers road-ready and ensuring drivers can drive safely on their routes. Maintenance is seen as one of the most demanding and critical roles in trucking. Trucking technology is constantly changing, and technicians must keep evolving their skills and abilities to keep truck maintenance up to date. Customer service representatives keep communication between customers and Penske team members flowing and are on hand to assist with customer problems.
"Penske technicians are not only the top performers in the industry they are Penske Truck Leasing technicians," said Gregg Mangione, senior vice president of maintenance, Penske Truck Leasing. "That means they are part of a winning team that ensures our valued customers receive high levels of uptime, professionalism and a partner that is dedicated to supporting their business. I am proud of the reputation our technicians have, their reputation for excellence is core to Penske's reputation in the marketplace. And thanks to their dedication, this company continues to succeed."
The week-long designation was created by the Technology & Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Associations in 2020 to recognize and thank technicians and CSRs for their work to keep our supply chains and economy moving during the COVID-19 pandemic.
