Penske Logistics Europe has moved to a larger cross-dock warehouse in the Netherlands, within closer proximity to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The new address is Changiweg 1, 1437 EP Rozenburg. Previously, the company had its forwarding location in Nieuw-Vennep, which is 10 kilometers from the airport. Headquarters for Penske Logistics Europe is in The Netherlands city of Roosendaal.
The new facility is 20,000-square-meters, and right now Penske Logistics is leasing 2,000-square-meters of the warehouse, with the option to occupy more space. Penske is servicing a dozen customers from this location, mainly within the automotive industry, and it also includes e-commerce and brokerage services for other freight forwarding companies.
“We outgrew the previous facility in Nieuw-Vennep,” explained Jaap Smink, Penske’s region supply chain manager. “We are experiencing growth and we needed a flexible solution close to Schiphol Airport. This location is also equipped with a roller bed system, which makes it easier to facilitate our air freight movement build on ULDs (unit load devices), a growing part of our operations.”
Early last year, Penske announced that they received an Authorized Economic Operator License (AEO) from the country, which will be in use at the Schiphol location. It provides for easier shipping within the European Union, and simplifies the process of receiving shipments from around the world.

Penske Logistics Europe verhuist naar nieuw magazijn bij Schiphol
Penske Logistics Europe is in Nederland verhuisd naar een groter cross-dock-magazijn, dichter in de buurt van luchthaven Schiphol. Het nieuwe adres is Changiweg 1, 1437 EP Rozenburg. Voorheen was de expeditielocatie van het bedrijf gevestigd in Nieuw-Vennep, op ongeveer 10 kilometer afstand van de luchthaven. Het hoofdkantoor van Penske Logistics Europe bevindt zich in Roosendaal.
De nieuwe faciliteit heeft een omvang van 20.000 vierkante meter, en momenteel huurt Penske Logistics 2.000 vierkante meter aan magazijnruimte, met de optie voor meer ruimte. Penske bedient een tiental klanten vanaf deze locatie, voornamelijk binnen de auto-industrie, en het levert ook e-commerce- en makelaarsdiensten voor andere expediteurs.
“We zijn de vorige faciliteit in Nieuw-Vennep ontgroeid,” legde Jaap Smink, Penske’s manager voor de regionale toeleveringsketen uit. “We maken een groei door en we hadden behoefte aan een flexibele oplossing in de buurt van luchthaven Schiphol. Deze locatie is ook uitgerust met een rolbedsysteem, waardoor het makkelijker wordt om onze luchtvrachtbeweging mogelijk te maken, die is gebouwd op ULD's (apparaten voor het laden van eenheden), wat een groeiend onderdeel van onze activiteiten is.”
Begin vorig jaar kondigde Penske aan dat ze een Nederlandse licentie als vergunninghoudend bedrijf (AEO - Authorized Economic Operator) ontvangen hadden. Die licentie zal op de Schiphol-locatie gebruikt worden. Dit zorgt ervoor dat verzending binnen de Europese Unie eenvoudiger wordt, evenals het proces voor het ontvangen van zendingen uit de hele wereld.
