Penske Truck Leasing Dedicates Collision Repair Classroom

Penske Truck Leasing recently held a dedication ceremony at the Lincoln Tech (LTI) campus in Grand Prairie, Texas, as the company branded its first-ever collision repair classroom. The classroom will be utilized for comprehensive learning and hands-on application of industry standard collision repair and refinishing techniques.

Penske works with leading technical schools, and related organizations such as SkillsUSA and the TechForce Foundation, to meet its growing demand for diesel technicians and body shop technicians, painters and related collision repair roles. Over the last 10 years, Penske Truck Leasing has hired more than 1,000 LTI graduates.

“The structure and technology that has been put into these programs has enabled Penske to gain both diesel technicians and body shop technicians with knowledge, determination, and a strong work ethic,” said Jed Pilato, area vice president of the South-Central region for Penske Truck Leasing. “Well-trained Lincoln Tech graduates are essential to keeping our fleet and customers moving forward.”

The Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology program at LTI Grand Prairie introduces students to various topics such as repairing conventional and unitized bodies using various manufacturers frame, alignment, and paint equipment, as well as industry certifications and career opportunities.

Penske Truck Leasing operates and maintains one of the industry’s largest fleets with its truck maintenance technician workforce comprising about 9,800 of the company’s 40,300-plus associates.
